Real Life, Real Parenting, Real Support – My Parents and Me Club for Families with Children 0-18

Parenthood is not a one-size-fits-all journey. It is a vibrant, ever-evolving tapestry of experiences that vary from family to family. Whether you’re raising a toddler with boundless energy, a teenager navigating their identity, or a child with a disability or learning need, one thing remains the same—you deserve support.

That’s the heart of the My Parents and Me Club, a vital part of The Parent Club, founded by Jade, a devoted working mother inspired by her two delightful daughters, Ashli-May and Jaida Faith. Through her lived experiences, Jade saw a real need for authentic, ongoing support for families of children aged 0–18. This vision led to the creation of Parensta CIC, a Community Interest Company with a purpose: to enrich the parenting journey and ensure no parent feels alone.

Real Life Parenting – No Filters, Just Truth

In an age of picture-perfect social media posts and curated parenthood blogs, My Parents and Me cuts through the noise with honesty and heart. Here, real parenting stories are celebrated, not hidden. It’s a safe space where messy kitchens, sleepless nights, unexpected diagnoses, and difficult school meetings are talked about—openly, without shame.

Parenting is not perfect, but it is powerful. That’s why My Parents and Me Club centres itself around real families with real challenges, sharing real solutions and support.

The Power of Connection and Community

Studies show that parental wellbeing has a direct impact on child development. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), children are more likely to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically when their caregivers receive adequate support and resources (CDC, 2023).

Community connection helps reduce stress, improve mental health, and empower parents to better meet their children’s unique needs. My Parents and Me provides that connection through:

  • Weekly support meetups (in-person and virtual)

  • Workshops on mental health, inclusive parenting, and advocacy

  • Sensory-friendly playgroups

  • Peer-led discussion circles

  • Family events designed with accessibility and inclusion in mind

This isn’t just a club—it’s a village. A village where every voice matters, every struggle is acknowledged, and every success is celebrated.

Parenting Children with Disabilities and Learning Needs

Parenting a child with a disability or learning difference adds another layer to the already complex journey of raising children. It often involves navigating healthcare systems, advocating within educational settings, and balancing the emotional needs of the entire family.

The World Health Organization (WHO) states that over 1 billion people worldwide live with some form of disability, many of whom are children (WHO, 2021). Families often face barriers in accessing the information and support they need. That’s where My Parents and Me steps in.

We offer guidance, practical tools, and emotional support for parents raising children with:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Down Syndrome

  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Dyslexia and learning disabilities

  • Sensory Processing Disorders

  • Physical impairments or developmental delays

Our goal is to not only support the child but to empower the entire family.

Early Intervention – A Lifelong Impact

One of the most powerful tools in supporting children with additional needs is early intervention. According to the CDC, children who receive support during the early years (0–5) are more likely to gain essential communication, social, and learning skills that will serve them throughout life (CDC Early Intervention).

At My Parents and Me, we help parents:

  • Recognise early signs of developmental delays

  • Navigate the referral and assessment process

  • Access professional support such as speech, occupational, or behavioural therapy

  • Apply for EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and understand their rights

  • Communicate effectively with nurseries, schools, and local authorities

Whether your child is 2 or 17, we believe it’s never too early—or too late—to advocate for the support they need.

Embracing Inclusive Parenting

Inclusive parenting goes beyond supporting a child’s diagnosis. It means embracing who your child is—fully, joyfully, and without condition. At My Parents and Me, we promote practices that celebrate neurodiversity and respect every child’s way of experiencing the world.

Our inclusive approach includes:

  • Workshops on positive behaviour support and communication

  • Creating visual schedules and sensory-friendly spaces at home

  • Encouraging strength-based parenting—focusing on what your child can do

  • Supporting sibling relationships and family dynamics

  • Educating communities to reduce stigma and promote acceptance

We work with professionals, educators, and parents to make inclusion a reality, not just a buzzword.

Real Stories, Shared Strength

There is something deeply healing about hearing, “Me too.”

My Parents and Me is built on the power of shared stories. Parents open up about their child’s first diagnosis, the fear of the unknown, the battles fought in school corridors, and the overwhelming love that fuels them each day. These stories aren’t just inspiring—they're life-giving.

They remind every mother, father, carer, or guardian that they are not alone. That their child’s life has meaning. That their challenges are real, but so is their strength.

Family Diversity is Our Strength

At The Parent Club, we recognise and honour all families. Whether you’re a single parent, a same-sex couple, a grandparent caregiver, or part of a blended or foster family, you belong here.

We support:

  • LGBTQ+ parents and children

  • Multilingual and multicultural families

  • Families with adopted or foster children

  • Households managing complex medical needs

  • Interfaith and non-traditional family structures

Every family brings a unique story, and every story adds to the rich tapestry of our community.
